Family meal is the time when the family members can sit together, sharing difficulties, reducing stress at the end of a tiring day of work.
For Vietnamese people, “family meal” is always a beautiful cultural feature. Nowadays, because of too busy life, many people have even no time to sit down at the dinner table to enjoy the hot meal in the warm atmosphere with their families.
Aiming at promoting this beautiful cultural value preserved by many Vietnamese generations and celebrating the Vietnamese Family Day (June 28), on the afternoon of June 15, 2019, Labor Union of Khanh Viet Corporation coordinating with the Women’s Organization of Labor Confederation of Khanh Hoa province held the contest “MasterChef Khatoco – 2019”. 16 teams belonging to Khanh Viet Corporation participated in this contest to create extremely exciting and warm atmosphere. Many dishes were performed skillfully with great effort which were extremely strange, unique, delicious and good looking.

This cooking contest was arranged very carefully and greatly by the Organization Committee. It was based on the MasterChef format which has been very famous all over the world. MasterChef Khatoco – 2019 had many integrated contents to ensure the creativity of competitors. The dishes were not only tasty, strange but also kept the traditional features of Vietnamese cuisine. Five main ingredients for contest were chicken, ostrich meat, pork-chops, snakehead fish, cuttlefish and spinach.
16 teams participated in the contest.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Chief of the Contest Organization Committee said that each team would draw randomly one of five main ingredients to create their main dish. 90 minute was the time for cooking. Besides the main dish, each team had to make stir-fried spinach and prepared a good looking fruits plate.

During the contest, there were joyful atmosphere with the sound of pots, pans and dishes touching, of cutting food and of laughing…You might think that you were at home on occasions of the Traditional New Year or death anniversary.
Khatoco Khanh Hoa Cigarette Factory won A prize (VND 10 million)
Yang Bay Tourist Park and Khatoco Trading Co. Ltd won B Prize (VND 7 million).
Khatoto Printing Joint Stock Co. and Ninh Hoa Ostrich Breeding Center and Khatoco Phu Yen Cigarette Factory won C prizes (VND 5 million).

(best good-looking dishes), Ninh Hoa Ostrich Breeding Center and Khatoco Trading Co. Ltd. (new and unique dish), Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory (best good-looking fruits plate).

Having said that MasterChef Khatoco Contest – 2019 is very meaningful for all Khatoco people. It was not only a chance to learn and exchange the cooking techniques but also a place where everybody could aware the valuable moment of the family meal and remembered the childhood memories with the best delicious dishes which were the ones cooked by mothers and grandmothers.
