On the morning of May 26, 2019, the National Orchid Contest was held at Orchid Island, Nha Trang city. About 400 works of many different kinds of orchid were brought here to participate in the contest by the artists on over the country. Some kinds of orchid were extremely rare and precious. The National Orchid Contest – 2019 was organized by Long Phu Tourism Joint Stock Company coordinating with the Ornamental Creature Association of Khanh Hoa Province.
At the exhibition area, orchid lovers really enjoyed the elegant beauty of many works of orchid created by skillful hands of the artists. Many people were very astonished when seeing extremely rare orchids for the first time. Especially, some kinds of orchid were so strange and have been in danger to be extinct. They have been evaluated billions of Vietnam dong and have been being hunted by the orchid experts. One kind of orchid found in the Central Highland, Kon Tum province was valued at VND 700 million.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, the Head of the Contest Organization Committee said that the National Orchid Contest was held in our Orchid Island for the first time. Through the contest, the artists on over the country could connect with each other and exchanged experience in planting and taking care for orchids. This was the playground for the orchid lovers for creating more wonderful works in the future. Moreover, this orchid contest aimed at bringing the joyfulness to tourists when they visited Nha Trang, a beautiful sea city, on this occasion.
At the end of the contest, one special prize, five first prizes, five second prizes and ten third prizes were awarded to the Artists.
Special prize was awarded to Artist Nguyen Cong Tien, belonging to the General Orchid Group.
First prize was awarded to Artist Huynh My, belonging to the Cattleya Orchid Group.
First prize was awarded to the Orchid Association of Kon Tum Province.
First prize was awarded to the Orchids Club of Da Lat city.
First prize was awarded to Artist Phung Thi Thuy, belonging to the Orchids Association of Bao Loc district, Lam Dong province.
