On the morning of June 18, 2021, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee visited and worked at Khanh Viet Corporation (Khatoco). Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee together with many Leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial Departments and organizations also attended this meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Tien Anh, Chairman of the Board of Members of Khanh Viet Corporation reported on Khatoco’s business results in the first 6 months of 2021. Despite of facing a lot of difficulties due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Khatoco has made great effort to achieve estimated consolidated revenue of VND 3,410 billion; estimated export turnover of USD 19 million; estimated payment to the state budget of VND 1,423 billion, an equal to 122% as compared with that of the same period last year, reaching 58.6% of the plan for 2021 assigned by the Provincial Government. During the first 6 months of 2021, Khatoco has been continuing to implement two important projects: Investment in cut tobacco processing line at Khatoco Khanh Hoa Cigarettes Factory and moving Khatoco Khanh Hoa Cigarettes Factory to Trang É Industrial Cluster. Khatoco has determined to finish the relocation of the factory and put it into synchronous operation at the end of the third quarter of 2022.
As Khatoco equitization and restructure process is behind the schedule required by the Government, Mr. Le Tien Anh proposed that the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee should consider to approve Khatoco valuation time at December 31, 2020 as a basis for its equitization. He also suggested that the Provincial Leaders should instruct Khatoco to solve difficulties related to two projects: Khatoco – Phuoc Dong new urban area and Hon Thi island group. Additionally, the charter capital of joint stock tourist services companies which are facing serious situations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic should increase and the investment capital for relocating the Cigarette Factory to Trang E Industrial Cluster should be added.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh highly valued the effort of all Khatoco’s Board of Directors and employees to overcome difficulties to achieve production and business targets, making great contributions to the provincial budget. He confirmed that the provincial Leaders always pay attention to Khatoco and share the difficulties with it. Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh also requested that the relevant departments and organizations should recheck, study and consider Khatoco’s problems, then propose the solutions for solving them. He requested Khatoco to report its difficulties in details together with its proposals to the Provincial People’s Committee as a basis for solution.
