To celebrate the 89th Anniversary of Establishing of Vietnam Women’s Union (20/10/1930-20/10/2019) and the Vietnamese Women’s Day on October 20th, on the afternoon of October 19, 2019, at the head office of Khanh Viet Corporation (Khatoco), the Executive Committee of the Trade Union combined with the Youth Union of Khatoco’s head office to organize a cooking contest with the theme “Cooking Together with Our Guys”.
This contest aimed at expressing the sincere thanks to all female union members of Khatoco’s head office for their contribution, devotion and love for Khatoco so far. Furthermore, this contest created a useful playground for all the male staff to show their cooking skill as well as their potential talents. This was also an opportunity for exchanging cooking experience, learning cooking technique and especially improving the solidarity and the relationship between all the staff.
The challenges for the contestants were: Within 60 minutes, each team had to cook at least 01 main course enough for serving 40 people. Cooking materials and cooking equipment were prepared by each team themselves. After finishing the dishes, each team had 60 minutes for selling the foods. The team getting the highest amount of money from selling foods would be the winner.
The exciting atmosphere of the contest
The contest was extremely exciting and filled with laughter. 60 minutes passed, then all the female staff was very eager to enjoy the diversified dishes. Through the skillful hands and with great effort of all five teams, many delicious dishes, from the very simple to the so much strange ones were created. Both taste and prices of the foods were so attractive. Moreover, all the foods met three standards of deliciousness – nutrition – reasonable prices.
With clever pricing strategies, funny marketing methods, encouragement and enthusiastic support of all the female staff, the foods of five teams were sold all before deadline.
The contest result was as following:
• First prize was given to the Red Team with the dish “Pork and vegetables rolled with rice paper”
• Second prize was given to the Brown Team with the dish “Spicy grilled pork cartilage ” and “Mango salad”
