On the morning of October 22, Khanh Viet Corporation (Khatoco) held a ceremony to donate a digital subtraction angiography system (DSA) worth VND 29 billion to General Hospital of Khanh Hoa province. Attending were Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan , Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee.
Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) system is very useful for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to blood vessels, especially coronary artery and cerebrovascular diseases. With the images obtained by the DSA system, doctors can detect the problems with blood flow for timely intervention to reduce the disability and mortality rate. Additionally, the DSA system helps detect heart diseases early in babies and children to minimize the disability and mortality rate to reduce the burden on families and society.

Doctor Phan Huu Chinh, Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital said “In 2008, the hospital was presented a DSA system by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee. This DSA system was used for cardiovascular intervention and other treaments for around 800 to 1,000 patients per year and saved a lot of stroke patients. However, after 10 years of use, this DSA system is too old to meet the requirement of diagnosis and treatment now”.

Therefore, the new advanced DSA system will help doctors and specialists detect diseases early and diagnose accurately to improve the quality of medical treatment as well as to minimize the expenses for families and society. It especially helps reduce the the disability and mortality rate caused by moving patients to higher level hospitals.
